At Bicher Cancer Institute, hyperthermia treatment combined with Low dose radiation (IMRT) for cancer is available to patients of all ages. In combination with low-dose radiation, hyperthermia has been shown to help shrink tumor size in a long list of different forms of cancer. Widely recognized as the fourth modality in cancer treatment, hyperthermia treatments have been approved by the FDA, and may have less side effects than other forms of treatment.

Depending on the type and location of the tumors, the heat is applied either directly beneath the skin, directly into the tumor, or inside the body in close proximity of the tumor. Hyperthermia treatment is available for localized tumors (stage one), and may also be available for cancers that have metastasized (spread) to other organs and tissue.
